You can make a difference — support the work of the Maryland Women’s Coalition for Health Care Reform. We have worked for almost a decade to advance a culture of health justice—where all Marylanders have access to high-quality, comprehensive and affordable health care. Nothing is more important than getting the health care you need. See the stories of some of the hundreds of thousands of Marylanders who have been impacted by our work. We work to ensure that:
- Peoples’ diverse needs are met;
- Insurance plans are comprehensive and affordable;
- People have access to the health care they need—when and where they need it; and
- Marylanders are Health Care Aware—understanding their insurance and how to use it.
The Coalition, with a membership of over 1,800 individuals and 100 organizations, engage a diversity of state and national partners and is a respected and effective voice for consumers.
In 2015, our work was recognized with the Families USA Consumer Health Advocate of the Year.
Our all-volunteer leadership team serves on many of the State’s health policy committees and workgroups. The Coalition, as a staunch advocate for Maryland’s Connector Entities, received the 2015 Affordable Care Act Partner Award from the Prince George’s County Department of Social Services and Department of Health.
We have accomplished a lot, but there is much more to do. We must continue toprovide the most current resources and information on our website and weekly e-letter—known as the “go to sources” for information and news on health care reform in Maryland. And, we must ensure that health care coverage is truly affordable and that everyone has access to the full range of health care services they need to live healthy and productive lives.
