BENEFITING: Massachusetts Down Syndrome Congress
ORGANIZER: Massachusetts Down Syndrome Congress
EVENT: 2015 Boston Marathon
EVENT DATE: Apr 20, 2015
Hi everyone!! Thank you so much for visiting my page!
I am so excited to have the amazing opportunity to run the Boston Marathon for the Massachusetts Down Syndrome Congress (MDSC) this April 2015!
I am a special education teacher for the Newton Public Schools at the Newton Early Childhood Center (NECP). I teach students with severe disabilities within a substantially separate classroom. At our program, we service children of all different shapes, sizes, and abilities through an integrated program experience. I have been so fortunate to meet and get to know so many different, loving, and amazing children, including those with Down Syndrome, who can truly light up a room. I cannot think of a better cause than to run in honor of these wonderful children who have helped to shape me as an educator and better person over the last two years.
This will be my second marathon ever and very first Boston Marathon! Please help to support this wonderful organization and the amazing people it stands for. I and they will appreciate it more than you know. Thank you so much for your time, thoughts, and contributions! See you all in April! :)

The Massachusetts Down Syndrome Congress strives to ensure all individuals with Down syndrome are valued, included, and given opportunities to lead meaningful lives in the community by providing information, networking opportunities, and advocacy for people with Down syndrome and their families, educators, health care professionals, and the community-at-large.
Since 2012, the MDSC has been an official charity of the John Hancock™ Non-Profit Marathon Program. We are proud to return as an official charity for the renowned 2015 Boston Marathon™ and are grateful for the charity bibs we received from the John Hancock™ Non-Profit Marathon Program for the 119th Boston Marathon.
Each year, Team MDSC raises significant awareness and funds that directly support our programs and services, such as Parents First Call, AIM: Teen and Young Adult Program, the Self-Advocate Advisory Council, Educational Resources, and our local and national advocacy efforts to improve the lives of all individuals with Down syndrome.
Our runners are passionate, self-less, and dedicated individuals who want to raise awareness and funds for the MDSC so we can improve the lives of people with Down syndrome. To read more about our runners and donate directly to them, click on the pages in “The Team” section below.
