I am running for Meb Keflezighi's MEB Foundation - Maintain Excellent Balance - emphasizing health, finess and academic achievement for young people around the country. I can't think of a better way to say "Thank You" to those who have made a difference in our lifes than by honoring them with a donation to his charity. Meb and his book "Run to Overcome" has been a huge inspiration in my life during a difficult time when I was facing a discrimination challenge at work and my husband was diagnosed with pulmonary fibrosis. With the help of Meb's inspiration, I have overcome these challenges and my husband is now a double lung transplant recipient. Life is a challenge, but with inspiration comes strength to overcome. I ran the Boston Marathon in April for Meb's Foundation as well, and due to the tragic events of that day... I was at Mile 25.7 when the unthinkable happened. And just last month, my dear running friend Sandy Kimber passed away unexpectedly, far too early. I will finish this race in NYC, in support of New Yorkers and those effected by Hurricane Sandy, those effected by the tragic day in Boston, and in honor of my friend, Sandy Kimber & her family. Meb's charity has and will continue to do great work. Some of The Foundation's recent work includes sponsoring the after-school program at NYC;s Armory Track & Field Center that provides study and tutoring assistance to several hundred high school students. I can't wait to share this great experience with you. So please give to this great cause. We can, and will accomplish great things together! I'll see you at the finish line! And THANK YOU!
