I believe that all people deserve the chance at an education, which is why I am working to help build a footbridge in the community of Mecapaca, Bolivia. Because of this bridge, hundreds of children will have safe access to school, even during the rainy season, when the river is high and dangerous. In addition, the community will have safe year round access to health care and work.
Our team donated expertise to design and construct the bridge in partnership with the non-profit Bridges to Prosperity. The bridge will be built with local materials, using local labor, and with the support of the citizens of Mecapaca. I was lucky enough to both work on the design and be chosen as one of our team of 10 to travel to Bolivia to help construct the bridge this November. My role will be engineering and leading the erection of the suspension towers and cables.
I am hoping to raise enough money to help with some of the travel expenses and also to bring out some items with me that will help out the younger citizens of Mecapaca. This is a fast and furious schedule (20 days) so I need to raise this money as quickly as possible because the project construction schedule starts Nov. 1st!
Please make a tax-deductible donatation today, and join me in making this project possible!
