In July and August 2015, a team of Parsons Brinckerhoff and Kiewit employees will be volunteering our infrastructure expertise to Llapallapani, an isolated community in rural Bolivia, by building a bridge through the nonprofit Bridges to Prosperity (B2P).
The 128m (419.9 ft) suspension bridge will provide access for hundreds of people every day, especially during the rainy seasons, to the other side of the river. Children will be able to attend school and everyone will have better access to all parts of the community, including healthcare and markets. Its impact will be real, visible, and measurable: about people and their quality of life (visit B2P for more info).
Friends and family know I have dedicated countless volunteer hours since my youth to building a brighter world. This project is an opportunity to make a huge impact by traveling to Bolivia and building a bridge that will help improve the local community's quality of life. As the team's Communications Coordinator, I will be documenting the process through photos, videos, blog posts, and social media. I will also be telling the story at speaking events upon my return.
Your tax deductible donation to Bridges to Prosperity will help to offset my expenses for communications equipment (e.g., photography and blogging supplies), vaccines, travel, and lodging expenses.
Thank you so much for your support! Please let me know if you'd like to be kept up-to-date on our progress.
