An excited team from Kiewit and Parsons Brinckerhoff is traveling to Mecapaca, Bolivia in the first two weeks of November 2014.
This 295 foot suspension bridge will provide access for hundreds of people every day, especially during the rainy seasons, to the other side of the river. Children will be able to attend school and everyone will have better access to all parts of the community, including health care.
I have always been passionate about bridges of all shapes and sizes. This chance to go to Bolivia and build a bridge that will have so much importance to the community is a once in a lifetime opportunity and I am so excited to be a part of it.
Your tax deductible donation to Bridges to Prosperity will help to offset my expenses for the purchase of health and safety supplies (I am the team's Safety manager) and my travel and lodging expenses. The health and safety items will range from first aid kit items like band aids and ointments to fall protection harnesses for the construction work. We also hope to purchase items like soccer balls and other sports items for the local children.
Thank you so much for your support! I am so excited to contribute to this project!
