Medical Emergency - Can You Help?
June 21, 2016
Hey ya'll! This is Heather, from Charleston. Some of you may remember me from my "Heather Is A Hero" fundraiser. If not you can read about it here: https://www.crowdrise.com/HeatherisaHero
So it's coming up on a year since Neal Falls tried to murder me, and I won't lie, it's been a tough time. But a lot of kind people helped me here and I'm really grateful to them all. I've worked hard to get my life back together after what happened. It's been tough but with the support of my family and friends, I've gotten some therapy and medical treatment.
But an unfortunate and painful accident has set me back. When Neal Falls attacked me, he hit me in the face, and he cracked and damaged my front teeth. I didn't have money to see a dentist, so they did not heal properly, and just recently, one of my two front teeth cracked further and came out completely.
It's painful all the time, I can't eat anything that required chewing, and I'm worried that it'll get infected and everything will get worse. And it also looks awful!
I can't afford to see a dentist to get it fixed. Even at a low-cost clinic, they say it will be between a thousand to twelve hundred dollars to repair the damage and do an implant.
That's way more money than I can get together. I've been trying to get a better job, but who wants to hire a girl missing a front tooth? I'm ashamed and embarrassed to even apply.
I know there's lots of people having tough times and some worse off than me. But I don't where else to turn. The dentist told me if I don't get it fixed soon, it may get infected and all my other teeth will start to be unstable too. I'm really worried. So I'm swallowing my pride and turning to you. Can you help me?
