THE STORY:

Dear Ladies And Gentlemen, This is a very difficult letter for me to write but many avenues seem to have been closed to me so I hope you can take the time to read my story My Name is Howard Wallace; I am a native of Virginia, but presently residing in Germany, since my Military duty .(Disable Veteran)I was involved in a Traffic accident, which was not my fault. Regardless, today I am sitting in a wheelchair, suffering from Spinal Cord Injury. I am paralyzes from my chest down, with no upper & lower extremist movement. The doctor’s say, no hope of ever walking or standing again. Depending on people to feed me, wash me, etc.… being a disable, means your Social life, family life is very much affected. Because of my handicap, I am not able to work partially nor full time, therefore I am living from help from the local health services . The holiday season is fast approaching( Easter). It is one of my favorite times of the year and I look forward to sharing the holidays with my family and friends, whom I have not seen in years, mainly because I cannot afford to travel. I’m asking for your support because people with rare conditions must rely on the kindness of others if they ever have hope. My dream is to visit my family and friends that I grew up with, because I have no guarantee if or not I ever will see them again. And be able to pay for my special needs (Medicine, Health Equipment, etc). An extended physical disability of a family member can be a very draining experience. Your support will help me to achieve one of my goals.I was chosen to do a medical trial, with a "Re-walk,that has been clinically tested, and I qualifies."A,ReWalk is a wearable robotic exoskeleton that provides powered hip and knee motion to enable individuals with  spinal cord injury (SCI) to stand upright, walk, turn, and climb and descend stairs*. The system allows independent, controlled walking while mimicking the natural gait pattern of the legs. I will understand if you are not interested, but still hope that you will make a pledge to this effort which means so much to me. Whatever your decision might be, I hope you will consider making a contribution. You know that I have SCI. I don't talk about it a lot for a number of reasons. I don't want people feeling sorry for me, besides, talking about illness makes some people uncomfortable and sometimes, it just makes me sad. I want to be around for a long time and celebrate many more holidays with the people I love. That is more likely to happen if we only could find a cure for SCI . Fortunately, the foundations for Spinal Cord Injury are involved in variety of researches to find a cure. The Foundation for Spinal Cord Injury with many support groups, are continue to raise money toward this effort. I am very excited about it because it means so much to me personally as well as for many other people I know who have SCI . Thank you in advance for your consideration and commitment to helping me. And to help wipe out this serious disease. Sincerely. Howard Wallace
