THE STORY:

Samantha Lee wrote -

Megha and I are just finishing up our first year of medical school! This summer, before we begin our second year as student doctors, we are excited to announce that we are embarking on a medical mission in South America!

Trujillo, Peru is the name of the city where we will call home for 4 weeks. We will spend each day volunteering at a self-funded clinic, with a focus on maternity and pediatrics, located in a deprived part of the city. The staff consists of 40 community doctors and nurses all working on reduced rates. We will be spending each day at the clinic working closely with staff, traveling with community nurses to make patient house visits, and spending each afternoon learning medical Spanish.

The cost of participating in this program is $2,440 per volunteer. To reduce the cost during the program, we will be staying with a local Peruvian family for the duration.

Thank you for taking the time to read this page! We are so happy to be spending time in this clinic this summer and cannot thank you enough for your donation to our cause! Even if you are unable to donate funds, please leave some words of encouragement :D  Let's change the world together.

Much love,

Sam & Megha
