BENEFITING: PACIFIC UNION COLLEGE
EVENT DATE: Mar 21, 2014
My name is Jonathan, you can call me Jon, and I am Nicaraguan. Throughout the years I have had the opportunity to visit my grandparents and other family in Nicaragua (My father is Nicaraguan). When I would arrive in Nicaragua, traveling by car from the airport to the town where my grandparents live, I would see the poorest of the poor, the dirt poor. My grandparents live near one of the poorest places in Nicaragua and I have seen with my own eyes, and felt with my own hands, the poverty there.
Last time I was there, almost four years ago, I was touched deeply by starving children on the dirt road, traveling to a small village to visit a church, asking for
coins so that they could buy food. I wanted to help the whole village but was unable to because I had nothing to give except a smile.
But now I have the opportunity, through my school, to travel to Nicaragua on a medical mission trip. I have the opportunity because I have the chance to raise money to go. I would greatly appreciate your donation so that I can finally be able to help hungry, sick, hurting, and lonely people in Nicaragua.
I will be part of a team working at and near the new Clinica Verde in Boaco, Nicaragua.
(my fundraising photo is not Clinical verde. It's a Seventh-day Adventist church that missionaries planted in Nicaragua near a poor village where I visited.)
