Medical Mission Trip to the Dominican Republic
Organized by: Morgan McMahill
EVENT DATE Jun 07, 2016
Family and friends,
These past 2 years of physical therapy school have been some of the most challenging yet rewarding experiences of my life. It was my dream to attend PT school so that I would be able to help those in need overcome challenges in their lives. I have been blessed with an amazing opportunity to do exactly that.
This June I will be traveling to the Dominican Republic with a group called HOMBRE, which stands for Humanitarian Outreach Medical Brigade Relief Effort, to provide medical care to the local communities that do not have adequate healthcare. I will be joined by medical and pharmacy students, as well as physicians and other licensed health care providers.
We are responsible for raising all of the money for medical supplies including medications, examination equipment, and therapy items that we need for our trip in order to provide the best possible care. In addition, the volunteers must fund their own travel and safety accomadations. With your help, my goal is to raise $1500 for medical services and supplies. I would love to enlighten you on the outcomes of the trip, the sites we visited, as well as all of the people we were able to help.
Please feel free to email me with any questions!
