Medical Support for TJ
Organized by: Tonya Zimmer
Medical Support for TJ is a fundraiser started by a very close cousin of TJ. His full name is Tyler James Waits. Tyler was in a car accident on Wednesday February 17th 2016. He was leaving work to head home. He was working in a bigger city and heading to an outskirt town of Laurel where he was living. While heading home he by accident went to take an exit he thought was the first exit to Laurel but it ended up being a Weigh Station for semi's. By taking the exit he had rear-ended a parked semi. The paramedics had arrived shortly after the accident and claimed Tyler dead at the scene or dead on their arrival. They then started pulling the car from the semi and heard Tyler moan in pain. They then changed the mission into a rescue of a survivor. One of the Sheriffs on the scene had said he was very lucky and it a complete miracle Tyler made it out of the accident alive. He said there was one other victim of an accident of just the same stature where the man had survived. After two hours of retrieving Tyler from the very damage car, a rescue helicopter flew Tyler to St. Vincent Hospital, only about 15 miles away from the scene of the accident. His parents soon arrived at the hospital and awaited to hear news on his condition. Tyler's doctor told his parents, Dan and Sandra Waits, he suffers from a lot of head trauma and no body trauma since his body is in great shape all the trauma went to his head and skull. The doctors even claimed it a miracle he had survived the accident. Tyler is 20 years old and he has a heart of gold! He is one who isn't shy and will make sure he stands out in a crowd. He loves to live every day to its complete fullest and if you are feeling down, he makes sure he can cheer you up in some way or another. One of the best qualities Tyler has to offer is his love, he will love and fight for you with every ounce of him until you are feeling better about yourself and your situation. He went into the CNA field because he does care for people and wants to be there for anyone who he sees needs it. Tyler is quite an inspiration in so many different ways. He is a survivor, a blessing, and a miracle!
