Medical Volunteer in Haiti
Organized by: Jon Little
Recently, I've graduated from PA school and I'm planning my first international medical trip. It's something I've been passionate about for a long time and I'm finally getting the opportunity to experience it!
Community Health Initiative (CHI) is an awesome non-profit organization that delivers medical care and community service to a rural village in Haiti. They offer about six trips throughout the year that include both medical and non-medical volunteers. I will be volunteering with community projects that include (but not limited to) sanitation, access to clean water, and giving medical care. CHI emphasizes sustainability through their work by training local Haitians, managing long-term medical issues, and prevention of disease through clean drinking water and sanitation. CHI is also incredibly flexible and willing to evolve into what is most needed at present.
CHI is passionate about demanding evidence that their efforts are effective and they keep track of the statistics:
Here is a great link that goes into more detail about why CHI is different than other NGOs functioning in Haiti:

I am grateful for whatever you can donate. Everything helps! Thank you to everyone. Sending peace and love!
