BENEFITING: MEDICINE FOR HUMANITY
EVENT DATE: Sep 06, 2014
Medicine for Humanity medical teams travel to Uganda, Africa every year to provide much needed health care for women and newborns. Much of our work is centered on surgical care for women who suffer from urinary fistula and other birth injuries. Women suffering from these injuries are socially ostracized, abandoned by their husbands due to the constant leakage of urine, often become infertile and are unable to work.
Our team of volunteer physicians and nurses work side by side with Ugandan medical teams to care for these women while also training local medical personnel in advanced surgical procedures.
For us to sustain our upcoming medical mission in September, 2014, we have an urgent need for funding in the amount of $20,000. We need your help! The funds raised will help us obtain the necessary medical supplies and surgical materials needed to care for these women as well as provide meals and safe housing during their 2 week recovery.
All of us at Medicine for Humanity thank you for your generosity and for all the lives you are helping to change and save!
