When I first came to IDP a couple of years ago, I didn't know much about meditation and wasn't too sure I was the group meditation type - it was a stretch for me. I kept coming back because I found Kim’s teaching style so authentic and accessible, I immediately felt at home. I had read several of Sharon Salzberg’s books about Metta, or lovingkindness practice, and at IDP I began to learn how it works. I found a group of people willing to take some time every week to put our over-scheduled, digitally distracted lives on pause for a bit and focus on an intention to develop compassion for ourselves and others. How nice is that?
I am so grateful to Kim and the many teachers and students and members who make The Interdependence Project what it is. It’s my hope that many more people can benefit from IDP’s classes and programs the way that I have. IDP is a non-profit and does not charge fees for valuable meditation trainings such as the Friday night Metta group. It relies on donations and annual fundraisers like this one to continue offering programs that are available to everyone in the community regardless of financial means. I feel strongly that IDP is a force for good in the New York City community and an organization worth supporting. I sincerely appreciate and thank everyone who supports me in this year-end fundraising effort simply because IDP is important to me. Thank you!!!
