MEDLIFE Benefit Concert: A House For Soledad
Organized by: Cornell MEDLIFE
THE STORY:
MEDLIFE is a national organization dedicated to helping low-income communities in Latin America to improve their access to medicine, education, and community development. Soledad is a single mother living in Villa Maria del Triunfo, on the outskirts of Lima, Peru. Her severe poverty is evident by the house where she currently lives with her son, Jose. Soledad works 7 days a week to try to make ends meet, but the crumpling walls of her house make it unsafe for her and her son to live comfortably. Cornell's chapter is holding a benefit concert on April 9th to not only raise awareness about MEDLIFE's mission but to also support efforts in giving Soledad and her son a house as well as a better future.
