Safe Water is Good Medicine
December 30, 2016
95% of inhabitants of rural areas in the Amazon are infected with intestinal parasites. Imagine living in a situation where the only water available is polluted with parasites and viruses and this is the water you and your children drink. Imagine watching them suffer from preventable illnesses, and not realizing why it's happening. This is the reason MedWater works in these underserved communities. Moreover our relationship with these communities is building their ability to help themselves. At the end of everyday we base our success on whether they have the knowledge and skills to oversee water safety and sanitation. Your donation is priceless to those who have never had safe water to drink!
MedWater is in place in the Ecuadorian Amazon to share WASH education. WASH is an acronym used by the World Health Organization, for Water And Sanitation Hygiene.
MedWater’s goals are: 1) the community will learn to manage and consistently use a safe water system 2) learn the value and techniques for building latrines and 3) learn the value of basic hygiene practices. Why must whole communities wait any longer for safe water to drink? Please consider donating today.
