BENEFITING: Building Opportunities for Self-Sufficiency
BOSS's Meekland House provides permanent supportive housing for young people ages 18-24. These young people have faced serious hardships such as family abuse or neglect, mental illness, criminal justice involvement, or other challenges - they have little to no family support system to help them through the transition from child to adult. At Meekland, they are building a supportive community, encouraging each other to achieve new goals - education, employment, healthy relationships. BOSS wants to provide a safe and attractive living space - Help us make over the Lair, the Meekland hang-out space where residents gather to socialize and where we host parties, meetings, and group counseling sessions, and the office where youth meet with staff counselors.
