Meeting My Birth Mother

I've been curious about my birth mother since I learned I was adopted. She was 17 years old, and was (to my understanding) raped. Knowingly unable to afford or raise a child, she acted in the greatest love I've ever known, and gave me up for adoption. For the past several years, I seriously considered searching for her, however always found a reason not to. I usually kept this desire private.
During my last consideration, I started the discussion over a family dinner with my aunts and uncles. This time, money was the only thing stopping me from starting the search. A week later I received a card from one of my aunts, included was a check. I no longer had an excuse.
I started the search in May. I received a response from the adoption agency in June. It took a total of 4 weeks to receive a letter back from my birth mother. And I'm not waiting any longer than I have to, to meet her. We both share the prayer to one day see each other face-to-face.
I'm starting this CrowdRise Fundraiser in hopes to raise enough funds to go to Seoul, South Korea for two weeks. I hope to be able to bring my adopted mother and boyfriend as well, to share in this powerful and life changing experience. I pray I can raise at least $10,000 to take myself, and it would be a dream come true to be able to take my mother and my best friend.
This will be a life changing event. And I will make it happen eventually. I just pray that with your help, it will be sooner rather than later.
Also, if you'd like to read more about my story, or if you'd like to stay updated on how things are progressing, please feel free to read my blog under the "Adoption" Category. The rest of the posts are good too, or maybe I'm just being a biased author!
