EVENT: Operation Backpack 2016
Hi! I am Megan Sands, and that's me in the picture on-set filming a school scene for a commercial. Do you notice what I am carrying? Well, I'm wearing my school backpack of course! But what if you didn't have a backpack to take to school everyday?!? I hope you will join me in supporting my goal to give the joy of learning to homeless children and at-risk youth in our community by donating to the Volunteers of America OPERATION BACKPACK campaign. Did you know that right where we live, in the Sacramento Region, there are over 25,000 homeless children that go to school each year? And there are even more that are in Foster Care, living in low-income temporary housing, or in group homes. I just LOVE school and one of my favorite things to do in the summer is to go shopping for a fun sparkly new backpack and fill it with all kinds of cool school supplies... but those children don't have that fun! YOU CAN HELP CHANGE THAT! Just donate a few $$ and I will be helping VOA buy backpacks and supplies. I will even get to help see some of the kids go pick them up later this summer at their awesome pick-a-pack event! Follow me here and I will keep you updated! Share this with your friends too! THANKS for the help! -Miss Megan
