Megan's Mission Trip to Nicaragua
Organized by: Megan Dang
69 Days Until Nicaragua!
October 19, 2016
Hi family and friends! I have been given a chance to serve the youth and poor in Nicaragua this December with the Salesians. The Salesians of St. Don Bosco are an order of the Catholic church whose mission is to love and serve the young and poor and bring them closer to Christ. I have been fortunate enough to be around Salesians my whole life. I have met so many amazing people through them and they have inspired me to be my best self and live out my faith as a young woman of God. I have been given the opportunity to go to Nicaragua to encounter the young and poor in the spirit of St. Don Bosco with love, joy, and Jesus. I am very excited to be working with the Mama Margarita Foundation who have built four homes for the local neighborhood and feed over 40 children per day. The slums in Nicaragua suffer extreme poverty and many people suffer from malnutrition. What really touched my heart is that this foundation needs a medical clinic. Many of the children and even adults have never seen a doctor. I hope that going to work with the Mama Margarita Foundation, I can teach them simple first aid and hygiene skills so these children can grow up to be happy, holy, and healthy. Hopefully one day, I will be able to return as a doctor and be part of their medical clinic! I am very humbled and honored to be attending this mission trip and any donation will be appreciated! My goal is to raise $1350. If I raise past my goal, I hope to donate to the Mama Margarita Foundation so they will be able to buy medical supplies and build a medical clinic. Help me give these children the best Christmas!!! Thank you so much for your donation and even taking the time to read this. God bless and you are in my prayers! With much love, Megan Dang
