BENEFITING: Wigs for Kids, Inc.
For the past 10 years, I have been donating my hair to a couple different charities. In October, I will be donating my 5th set of ponytails to Wigs for Kids. In addition to the 13 inches I plan on chopping off, I would also like to send a monetary donation, to celebrate 10 years of giving my hair to children in need.
I chose to donate to Wigs for Kids for a couple reasons. First, they are based right here in Ohio. This means my hair doesn't have to travel far to be made into a wig. Second, the wigs made by Wigs for Kids are unique. In these wigs, children can swim, play sports, and be active, which wouldn't be possible in regular wigs. Because these wigs are unique, they also require more money to produce (about $1,800). This is why I want to celebrate 10 years of my hair donations by contributing some money along with my hair in October.
I encourage you to look at the Wigs for Kids website for more information: http://www.wigsforkids.org/ I am grateful for any donation you can make, no matter the size. Thank You.
P.S.--That IS my hair in the photo to the left. This is the longest I have ever grown it out.
