BENEFITING: WE THE VILLAGE
After the devastating earthquake in Haiti in 2010, Gabriel Fedelus started Love Orphanage with just 2 rooms and a few blankets. Love Orphanage has since grown, currently supporting 20 children ages 3 to 15 years old. I am running Broad Street on May 1st this year to raise money for the "Be a Difference Maker" Program which is bringing education to the 17 kids currently at LO.
In June, a group of us will be traveling to Haiti to participate in the Haiti Culture Camp at Love Orphanage, organized by non-profit We the Village. We are currently raising funds for this program and to purchase a bus for the school. We The Village is also working on a Dream Home fund to finish building a new facility for Love Orphanage, which will include the classroom/library. 100% of donations directly support Love Orphanage’s projects and needs.
Every time I get off my butt and go out for a run I know I am doing it for an amazing cause. :) Please go to www.loveorphanage.org to read more about this wonderful organization. I would really appreciate any help you could offer! Every bit counts. Finished three miles tonight! Only seven more to go....
