Meghan's 2016 Boston Marathon fundraiser
Organized by: Meghan Marsney
EVENT DATE Apr 18, 2016
Family and Friends, I guess it is time to say it out loud- that I will be running the 2016 Boston Marathon! I am officially halfway through my training and feeling great! Though, I was very graciously given the opportunity to run without a fundraising requirement I cannot run this race without doing something to give back. After a lot of thought - I will be running for Dana Farber. Most of us know someone who has been affected by cancer in some way. Whether it was a personal diagnosis or standing by a loved one while they fight the fight, you know how devastating this disease can be. So I run for those who beat it, I run for those who lost the battle and I run for all of those left in the wake effects of Cancer. I have personally lost several family members to Cancer which makes the cause that much more important. I will be especially thinking of my friend Melissa who lost her mom this year and my friend Charlene who's mom has been fighting this awful disease. And of course my grandfather Al Spring who we lost in May. This one is for you! You never know what tomorrow will bring so be kind- in such a crazy world appreciate the ones you love. To donate, please use this link I will be directly donating 100% of the proceeds raised to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute through my husband Nick Marsney’s Pan Mass Challenge (PMC ) link in a joint fundraising effort. This is his 6th year riding 190 miles over 2 days from Sturbridge to Provincetown to help find a cure for cancer. I am so proud of him and wish him the best of luck! *100% of monies raised through the PMC goes directly to cancer research. Thank you for your support!
