"In april of this year, just days after my wedding I became very sick. Within a few weeks I was diagnosed with an acute form of leukemia. I am thirty-three years old and am a mother to two young children. Prior to becoming sick I was a server at Citrola's Italian Grill unfortunately I am now unable to work due to my immune system not being able to protect me properly. I have always been a busy, busy girl working, volunteering and staying involved and active in the community. It has been difficult to slow down and be the one who needs helping.
My next step is a bone marrow transplant at Moffitt. I am currently waiting for a bone marrow donor and am very hopeful to have my transplant before the year is over. Transplant will cause me to be away from my children for three to six months as well as my home and animals. Money that is raised on my behalf will be used to help with the costs of transplant and being away from home for so long as well as the need to have a personal care giver 24/7 after release from the hospital. I just want to say a sincere thank you for any and all help."
