Once you've met someone like Brook who I'm pushing in the picture you see on my fundraising page you never take running (or life as you already know it) for granted! If you know me you know that over the years I've been involved with a charity of some kind that has aligned itself with 'would be' athletes like me.
This is my second year as a coach and participant for Racers 4 Pacers. And as is my wont, I'm not just planning on raising $$ for an awesome cause and competing in a marathon. Oh no, that would be way too easy!! I've decided that I want to qualify for Boston! Why? Because I think it would be a great way for me to celebrate turning 55 next year. And because when you're around the children that we push in these chairs you realize how ridiculously easy our lives are! How we take for granted so many things that are momentous struggles for them. So, finishing a marathon in 3:40 (8:20 per mile) is my next B.A.G. (Big Audacious Goal)
I hope you've got some $$ left in your charitable budget so I can raise enough money to buy a chair of my own accord (approximately $1000)
