Memorial for H. Jeremy Schneider
Organized by: Rob Viola
EVENT DATE Oct 03, 2015
This campaign serves as a memorial for H. Jeremy Schneider, a Mainer, a Montrealer, a New Yorker, an intensely loyal friend, a great lover and collector of film, music, literature, ideas and the arts, a partner-in-crime with an unquenchable thirst for life, a prolific traveler, a keeper of collective memory, a Red Sox maniac who possessed a throwing arm of terrifying power.
He died in Queens, NYC at the age of 43 after a fearless and unstoppable multi-year battle with cancer.
The funds raised here will first purchase a seat plaque at his beloved Film Forum, permanently commemorating Jeremy at the classic New York City indie repertory theater where he was a fixture.
Funds will also be used for his memorial party on October 3rd, a grand send-off, open to all his friends and family that will feature live music, original songs composed in his memory, a video tribute and one last chance for all the members of his diverse tribe to gather in a setting that Jeremy would approve: a raucous party with loud music, a well-stocked bar and all his favorite people.
Any additional funds will be donated in his memory to the Museum of the Moving Image in Jeremy's neighborhood of Astoria, to establish a seat plaque in their screening room.
