Mercy for Mamba
Organized by: Khiry Ward
Mamba is a two year old American pit bull my son acquire a few years ago while he was away at college in Michigan. My son who has been living on his own aspiring to become a veterinarian took on the responsibility of raising two dogs while trying to finish his undergrad degree at MSU. I know there is a lot of controversy surrounding this breed. However, please believe me when I say that this dog is the sweetest dog you could ever meet. He is truly a part of our family. Mamba came into the world a little over two years ago and since then he has been through a few surgeries to repair his hip flexor, basically to maintain his ability to take walks, run and play with his brother Nimbus (pit bull ). Although he may never be able to run as fast or walk as far as his counter part , it is a blessing that he's at least able to experience some degree of independence . It is such a joy to watch these two lovable animals frolic and play around the house & outdoors. Whenever we take them out people always comment on how beautiful and friendly they are . A few days ago my son called me in tears from Atlanta where they are now residing and gave me the news that baby mamba has lymphoma and now has to undergo more extensive medical testing & treatment . My heart went out to him and I wished there was something I could do to help! Unfortunately I gave my son the last of my savings to make the move to Atlanta, in order to continue his pursuit of a veterinarian degree. In closing I would like to say thank you in advance to all that can and are willing to help at this critical time.
