Note: Until Mercy House Minneapolis receive recognition and approval of 501(c)3 and tax exempt status, NAAD (formerly, African and American Friendship Association for Cooperation) will serve as our fiscal host. All donations will go through NAAD and be given to Mercy House after.
Mercy House Minneapolis' mission is to provide housing and support to at-risk women in Minnesota as a Christ-centered non-profit organization. While living at Mercy House, women will experience family style living arrangements and have the opportunity to grow in their practical living skills.
Women come to Mercy House through outside referrals. Each woman will complete an individualized action plan upon completing an assessment at the initial intake process. The action plan may include GED or High School diploma completion, job training, attendance at group meetings, and church services. Action plan goals provide the opportunity for continual growth in their spiritual, physical, emotional, and vocational lives.
Mercy House will be a place where women will have every opportunity to be transformed by the power of the Almighty God to live and serve others. The desire of Mercy House is to invest in the lives of women that come to live at the house, while instilling a desire within the women, to give of themselves and to serve others in their own communities, as well.
Our goal is to raise $60,000 for six months worth of operational funds to start with. These funds will go to basic house hold necessities, programming, director and house mamas salaries, and some other things. For more information about where your donations are going, contact us here or at our website. Additionally, we have been contacted by a donor who is willing to match all the funds we raise up to $225,000, so every dollar you donate is like two dollars for Mercy House!
