BENEFITING: Girls Gotta Run Foundation
EVENT DATE: Oct 05, 2014
I'm running the Portland (OR) Marathon on October 5, 2014. In conjunction with the marathon, I'm raising awareness and funds for the Girls Gotta Run Foundation (GGRF).
GGRF is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that invests in Ethiopian girls who use running and education to empower themselves and their communities. While most do not become professional athletes, some do; and training allows them all to stay in school, avoid early marriage, and enhance their personal economic opportunities. It also develops their sense of well being and personal power. Material support provided by GGRF includes, but is not limited to, funds for running shoes, training clothes, extra food ("calorie money"), coach subsidies, and other training-related expenses.
With your help, we can continue to make the above possible. Thanks for your support.

P.S. If you chose to donate, the "Optional Processing Fee" is just that, optional. Please click on it to select $0 or any other amount as this fee is voluntary and supports Crowdrise, not GGRF.
