BENEFITING: Junior Achievement
EVENT DATE: Oct 26, 2013
Raising funds to support the future leaders of Maine!! We envision a State full of young leaders and professionals, and with YOUR help - we can achieve it!
The mission of Maine's Fashion Night Out is to bring the community together, highlight local businesses and raise money for a great local charity. Everything about this event is local: from the models, the designers, boutiques and even all the advertising and printing is done locally.
Our donee is Junior Achievement of Maine. Junior Achievement programs help to prepare young people for the real world by showing them how to generate wealth and effectively manage it, how to create jobs which make their communities more robust, and how to apply entrepreneurial thinking to the workplace. Students put these lessons into action, and help strengthen their communities. JA in Maine has taught nearly 9,000 students throughout our state. In partnership with local businesses and educators JA brings the real world to students, opening their minds to their potential and preparing them for the world of work.
Why Junior Achievement? CORE holds a vote online for the public to choose our donee. For the 2013 event, over 800 voters cast their ballot and Junior Achievement was the winner. We can tell Junior Achievement is important to our community, so they deserve all the support we can give them!
