BENEFITING: MASSACHUSETTS GENERAL HOSPITAL
EVENT DATE: Apr 18, 2016
A marathon. I can't say this was ever on my bucket list. However, all that changed about 2 years ago after the 2013 Marathon. Similar to many Boston Marathon runners, there is something about that day that has compelled me to run. This is my city. A city I grew up visiting frequently, a city that comes together in times of despair and restores hope, a city that has shaped me into who I am today. Mass General Hospital First Responders were amongst the many that took care of our city that day. Helping over 300 patients each day, the Emergency Team at Mass General Hospital employs some of the best doctors and nurses in the world. They dedicate their lives to saving the lives of others.
So who am I? I am a sister to a marathon runner... and to Brendan. I am a daughter to two of the most supportive parents on this planet who have taught me that giving back is one of the most important parts of life. I am a second grade teacher, which I guess you can say is why I am really here. Every day it is my job to inspire others to do what it is they feel like they cannot do. Whether it's tying a shoe, or answering 8+9, second grade can be unknowingly defeating. As a teacher, you quickly learn that modeling how to do things is imperative to student success. It is my goal to show room C-23 that you can do anything you put your mind to, one step at a time. Please support me in my running journey by donating to the MGH First Response Team! Any donation counts ☺
