BENEFITING: STATE UNIVERSITY OF IOWA FOUNDATION
EVENT DATE: Nov 04, 2012
My daughter was born with bilateral congenital clubfoot seven years ago and I have personally experienced the miracle of the Ponseti non-surgical method every day since. She is now fully corrected and has stopped the daily use of a bar and shoes, so it seemed like the perfect time to start giving back and helping others.
The Ponseti International Association for the Advancement of Clubfoot Treatment at the University of Iowa was established to improve the treatment of children suffering from clubfoot in countries throughout the world. Clubfoot affects approximately 150,000-200,000 infants each year and is more prevalent in certain areas of the world such as Africa and the Pacific Islands.
Thanks to the lifelong dedication of Dr. Ignacio Ponseti, there is an effective, inexpensive treatment that will allow these children to lead a normal life. The Ponseti International Association is committed to advancing the treatment of clubfoot through education, improved care, and research.
Your donation to Ponseti International will be processed through the University of Iowa Foundation.
