BENEFITING: BEN TOWNE PEDIATRIC CANCER RESEARCH FOUNDATION
EVENT DATE: Nov 04, 2012
When I first learned that my friend Pam's 3-year old son Caden was diagnosed with High Risk Neuroblastoma (cancer), there was a sense of helplessness... what could I do to help? And how did we get here? It seemed like only months ago we were signing leases on our first post-collegiate apartment, moving in our furniture, laughing about our overbearing landlords, and hosting parties.
Somehow along the way, we became "real" adults (the kind with more responsibilities than just paying rent on time). And yet as much as we control our relationships and our careers, sometimes forces bigger than ourselves derail us.
I met Caden only months before his diagnosis; he was a cheerful busy toddler chasing around his cousins during the holidays. I want to see him in Christmases to come, laughing with his family and younger sister.
I already have an entry to the 2012 New York City Marathon, but this is a way to honor and support the Shraugers during this difficult time.
There are two ways to help:
Please donate to the Shrauger's preferred charity, the Ben Towne Foundation for pediatric cancer research, via this website, OR
To donate directly to the family, please visit Caden's website.
