BENEFITING: THE MICHAEL LISNOW RESPITE CENTER
ORGANIZER: THE MICHAEL LISNOW RESPITE CENTER
EVENT: 2017 Boston Marathon
EVENT DATE: Apr 17, 2017
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page!
Three times now I’ve had the privilege of running the Boston Marathon for the Michael Carter Lisnow Respite Center. Now I have the chance to help this great organization again by running in the 2017 Boston Marathon. It is such an honor to be selected to run for this wonderful group of people.
I have two goals this year:
1. Raise at least $7,500 for the Respite Center
2. Run the marathon in under 5 hours (previous PR is 5:21)
Clearly the first goal is the most important; I would really appreciate it if you could make a donation towards these goals. The Michael Carter Lisnow Respite Center is a wonderful organization with great people that I have grown to know over the past few years. The work they do truly affects the lives of everyone they work with. I know that right now is a difficult time for many of us to make donations, but when you consider how even a small donation will affect the lives of these wonderful people, I urge you to give what you can.
All donations are secure and sent directly to Michael Carter Lisnow Respite Center by this website, who will email you a printable record of your donation.
You can also donate by check if you would rather do that, just drop me a note.
The Michael Carter Lisnow Respite Center is a non-profit organization whose mission it is to create a home away from home for children and young adults with disabilities. The funds I raise contribute 100% to scholarships supporting families who are unable to cover the costs associated with assisted care. In many cases, the Respite Center actually employs people who are mentally and physically challenged themselves--a great benefit that gives them added self-confidence and independence.
Take a moment to visit the website (www.hopkintonrespite.com) to learn more about the Respite Center's program.
Donating through this website is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to support my fundraising efforts.
Many thanks for your support -- and don't forget to forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate too!

The Michael's Miracle Marathon Team is a Boston Marathon team to benefit The Michael Lisnow Respite Center. The Respite Center is an official B.A.A. charity that provides services for children and adults with disabilities. We have several programs which include our Adult Day Program, Weekend Respite, After School Care, Day Care (birth - 3yrs), Employment Support for Individuals with Disabilities and Residential Placements.
As we begin 2017 and our 18th Boston Marathon season, our goal is to continue to increase respite and support services for families trying to survive the challenges of raising a child with disabilities. Last year the Respite Center raised just over $600,000 with a team of 72 runners. These funds made it possible to grant scholarships and also provide over 40,000 hours of service to families in need.
