My 19 year old son Michael recently worked for a family selling fireworks for TNT fireworks Co. It was agreed upon that he work for $10.00 an hour and $5.00 an hour to sleep under the fireworks Tent in which they were selling from, needing the money, my son agreed. He worked for them for ajust over a week, a couple days after he ended his work with them because it was only until the holiday, and the payday came, the family said they are unable to pay him because they don't have enough money. Michael and family is absolutely devastated, he had to sleep in a chair, lived in $30.00 worth of food for the week, had no place to shower, and his work days were 14 hours long. Mikey is a college student and lives in a dorm, this money was supposed to pay the remainder of his lease and he only has until July 29th to so or he gets evicted , it tears me up that I can not pay this for him because I am currently disabled and live on a limited income. Next month all his scholarships and financial aid will kick in but it does not apply to this semester, only next semester. As a family we are desperate to save Mikeys college home, he is a hard worker, but all his hard work has been for college and volunteering at a local food pantry, he depended on this pay to finish out this semesters lease. I have tried to contact the head of this firework tent who TNT Fireworks contracted out to, but have had no luck, and no address now that all the tents have been taken down. I hope and pray that this reaches out to some generous people, the only promise we can make to any donors is that one day we will pay it forward. Thank you.
