Michael's First Hit-A-Thon
Organized by: Mary Au
Michael has joined his first group activity and believe it or not, he is now old enough to be on a t-ball team.
Michael is a proud member of the Falls Church Kiwanis Little League this year and is playing for the mighty Swordfish and they need your help to keep costs down so that any child can take part by supporting him with a tax deductible sponsorship.
We know this is going to be a great opportunity for him to learn about teamwork, self-confidence, and baseball and want to make sure this remains accessible to everyone in our community.
Fees are kept low because many business in our community provide sponsorships and because the league has an annual fundraiser called the Hit A Thon. This is an event where kids take turns slugging it out to see how far they can hit the ball. It raises money when generous people like yourselves who love the idea of kids learning important life skills (like teamwork and patience) while being super adorable in their uniforms.
Personally speaking, this activity has been something that has helped Michael and all of us get through a rough time by giving him something to look forward to, think about (and obsess a bit over)
The event is held this Saturday, May 10th and our team is hitting at 2 pm if you'd like to come see history being made in person-- but I will of course be posting pictures to facebook to commemorate our "I knew him when" moment, if you can't make it on Saturday. So, we hope you will support Michael and the FCKLL by making a pledge, thanks in advance!!
Did I mention its all tax-deductible?
