BENEFITING: ATTACK ADDICTION FOUNDATION
EVENT DATE: Mar 05, 2016
Michael stuggled with addiction for many years. But through it all he wanted to get better. He held out hope that one day he would beat addiction. Michael was involved with atTAcK addiction. Michael and I were part of Project Purple Run 7000 at Delcastle in 2013. We also participated in the first atTAcK addiction 5k in 2013. He had contacted atTAcK addiction days before he passed to share infomation on sober living. Michael had no intention of overdosing.
We run this race in his name to bring awareness to the 911 Good Samaritan Law. PA, where he was in a sober living house, had not passed this law in July 2014. Michael was in distress and his friend did not call 911 in time for fear of being arrested. Had that call been made right away he would still be alive.
AtTAcK addiction works to pass laws, like the 911 Good Samaritan Law, to help save lives. Addiction is a disease, not a moral issue. Educate yourself. We never thought that we would live this nightmare. One day you may discover someone you love is affected by addiction. Please help our cause.
