BENEFITING: Domestic Violence & Child Advocacy Center

Our friendship with Jackie Guba Neumann, “Guba” as we called her back in high school, started when we were just teenagers. There was a group of us who all hung out together and we call ourselves the “YaYas.” Thirty years later, the YaYas are still together to this day. We are blessed to have this bond and to call each other friends for so many years.
Sadly in August 2013, Jackie was beaten and killed by an ex-boyfriend. Thankfully, he was caught, tried and sentenced to life in prison without parole for his horrific crime. But that left Guba’s friends and family trying to pick up the pieces and carry on without her and her beautiful spirit.
We all felt helpless and sickened by what happened to our dear friend. We wanted her death to make a difference for someone else who may be at risk or in danger. Furthermore, we wanted to make sure she did not die in vain, so we are joining forces with the Domestic Violence & Child Advocacy Center (DVCAC) to host a very special evening in memory of Jackie Guba Neumann. It will be a great night for a great cause!
