Michelle Byrom is home from Death Row
Organized by: Warren Yoder
Michelle Byrom is home from sixteen years on Death Row. Her jury was never allowed to hear two critical pieces of exonerating evidence. She was released after her deeply flawed trial was overturned at the last minute, partly because of the advocacy of concerned citizens. http://www.theatlantic.com/national/archive/2014/03/why-does-mississippi-want-to-execute-michelle-byrom/284577/ http://www.clarionledger.com/story/journeytojustice/2015/06/26/michelle-byrom-goes-free-friday/29316079/ Michelle is disabled, but her disability benefits will not start for several months. She is in good spirits, but she needs a good wheelchair, medication, clothes, and personal items. Many people advocated for her release. Please help Michelle re-establish her life. David Calder, her defense attorney, will disburse the funds to Michelle through his trust account.
