Michelle's 500 Mile Race for HPS & the Special Olympics
Organized by: Adam Steiner
On May 22, 2014, Holliston technology education teacher, Michelle Roy, will run the most extreme of marathons. This running race takes place over 10 days and consists of individual 50 miles runs each day. In other words, Michelle will run nearly 2 marathons each day for 10 days!
This is an amazing feat, but even more so because Michelle is a cancer survivor and a full-time teacher. Last year, Michelle completed 380 miles before her body just gave out, but this year she is going for the full 500 miles!
Michelle is running this race to raise money for the Network Program at Robert Adams Middle School in Holliston, MA and for the Special Olympics. She selected this group of students/athletes because of her commitment to educating students of all abilities and backgrounds and the great work that the Network Program does. As she said, "I am amazed at the dedication of the Network teachers and paraprofessionals in creating an exemplary middle school experience here at RAMS and because I am constantly learning lessons from these students about how to be a better human being."
Please help support Michelle in her superhuman effort and great cause!
100% of the proceeds will go directly to the Network Program and the Special Olympics.
