BENEFITING: FRONTLINE MINISTRIES INTERNATIONAL INC
BOTTOM LINE: I will be picking up trash on the streets of Massillon, Ohio this weekend to raise funding for my upcoming Asia mission trip involving anti-human trafficking efforts.
DETAILS: Want to help support anti-human trafficking efforts and my mission to Asia, all while benefiting the environment?
You can donate to my Trash-a-Thon fundraiser! To explain, I (and some friends) will be out on the streets of Massillon this Saturday, May 4, picking up trash all morning to raise money for this mission. ALL DONATIONS ARE TAX-DEDUCTIBLE. I understand that some prefer to donate anomously, but if you can, please leave your name or shoot me an email letting me know so that I can personally thank you and keep you updated (firstname.lastname@example.org).
I am raising all my own funding to travel to Asia May 6 - 27, in conjunction with Frontline Ministries (a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit NGO). Our team will be involved in a variety of efforts, including working with persons on the streets of the Red Light District in Singapore, partnering with an organization that helps prostitutes, pimps, and victims of trafficking, offering them alternative career training and medical care.
Our team will also be working with Iris Ministries in Cambodia, a nonprofit that assists in the rescue and restoration of young boys and girls who have been trafficked and abused, and working in Jakarta and Manado, Indonesia, ministering God's heart of love to many hurting and needy people.
I have personally seen the love of God touch and change lives forever - bringing healing and opportunity to children and adults who have been violently exploited and abused. It is possible for someone who has been through the hell of trafficking and prostitution to experience true love and compassion, and receive an opportunity to pursue a safe and honorable means of making a living.
No matter where you stand with your own faith and political views, certainly we can all get behind this kind of cause. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for supporting this mission.
P.S. For those of you thinking, Michelle, you are employed, why can't you just pay for your own trip? Well:
1. I will essentially not have a salary for the month of May to go on this mission, and while my work has been kind enough in permitting me to go, the cost of this trip goes way beyond my personal financial means. I am trusting God to help me raise the funds to go.
2. If you "sow" (give) your own funds into this kind of a mission, you will personally be blessed. (See Proverbs 19:17 - "Whoever is generous to the poor lends to the Lord, and he will repay him for his deed.")
3. You know me personally, so you know that 100% of your donation will go toward this cause.
