Did you know that 10% of the population suffers from migraines? My name is Michelle Tracy, and I am a Migraine Research Foundation Ambassador. I have suffered from chronic migraines for 10 years. These migraines include excruciating pain in my head, eyes, neck, and shoulders as well as nausea, vomiting, dizziness, extreme sensitivity to light and sound and smells, dehydration, and visual disturbances. They make it impossible for me to work or drive and there is no guarantee that medication will abort my migraine or even ease the symptoms. Migraines are an invisible illness because people cannot see evidence of them by looking at you and doctors cannot yet perform tests that confirm that you have migraines. Thus, migraine is still largely undiagnosed, widely under-treated, and research is severely underfunded. The Migraine Research Foundation raises money to fund research grants to find a cure for migraine because no other organization, including the federal government, is filling this need. My goal in working with the Migraine Research Foundation is to raise awareness about the dire need for research to find a cure for this incredibly disabling invisible illness. More research needs to be done and I need your help raising money so the Migraine Research Foundation can fund that research, to ensure that migraine is treated effectively, and eventually cured. ALL DONATIONS GO DIRECTLY TO FUND RESEARCH because 100% of the organization’s operating costs are covered. I urge you to donate to help fund a migraine research grant, so that one day people like me no longer have to suffer debilitating pain. Thank you!
