From the Great Lakes to our hundreds of inland lakes and streams--our natural resources have helped nurture a distinct Michigan way of life. The Michigan LCV Education Fund is dedicated to providing both the information and tools needed to protect Michigan’s land, air and water for future generations.
Michigan LCV Education Fund uses personal stories and state-of-the-art information tools to make complex issues understandable, empowering every Michigander to make smart choices for their family and effectively voice concerns to elected leaders.
A key component of Michigan LCV Education Fund’s work is to convene other organizations engaged in environmental and conservation work throughout Michigan to set a common agenda of priorities and build capacity among these organizations. Over the last four years we have brought together close to 40 organizations around the state to strategically prioritize three to six issues, collectively advocate for these issues, and make meaningful policy progress and change by educating elected officials and decision-makers about the issues that matter most to Michigan’s environment and economy.
By providing a full set of tools, information and strategies to help Michigander’s protect our lakes, lands and way of life, we create the conditions for Michigan citizens and all of our conservation and environmental partners to achieve meaningful victories for our land, air and water.
Here are just a few issues that we are currently working on:
- Supporting strong energy policies that promote renewable energy and energy efficiency.
- Curbing the flow of pollution into our lakes and streams that contribute to harmful algae blooms.
- Educating Michiganders on the issues facing our Great Lakes and natural resources and encouraging them to vote
