The Sierra Club Foundation’s goal is to end our reliance on dirty fossil fuels; reverse the social, economic, and environmental damage caused by global climate change; restore, connect, and protect healthy ecosystems so that wildlife and wilderness can thrive; and successfully transition to a clean, green, renewable energy economy that better serves people and nature.
As the fiscal sponsor of the charitable programs of the Sierra Club, we provide resources to it and other nonprofit organizations to support charitable scientific, educational, literary, organizing, advocacy, and legal programs that further The Sierra Club Foundation's mission.
This summer help the Sierra Student Coalition work towards a vision for a clean and just energy future! One of the best things we can do in support of this vision is to give young people the skills they need to become empowered leaders in their own communities.
Some of the best and brightest leaders of the youth climate movement today first got involved in the movement by attending one of the SSC’s Summer Grassroots Leadership Training Program (Sprogs for short). An investment in Sprog is an investment in the future of the movement, one that will pay dividends to the movement for years to come. Sprog is a 100% charitable (C3) activity where we teach administrative advocacy and charitable organizing.
Right now the SSC is fundraising to make the program accessible to more folks. You can help send a youth to Sprog by making a contribution to a program near you. Each program has a goal to raise $2,000 to help make Sprog affordable, but the more we can raise collectively, the more scholarships we can offer.
Will you join us and become an advocate for a Sprog in your region? Forward this message to friends & family, adding why Sprog is important to YOU. Tweet and post this in your Facebook and Gmail status:
