BENEFITING: FLORIDA SCHOOL OF TRADITIONAL MIDWIFERY INC
Those who know me, know that becoming a Midwife has been my dream for as long as I can remember. I attended my first birth 18 years ago in May and ever since that very day, I knew that I wanted to be able to provide better options for women to choose from during their pregnancy and the birth of their babies. I have been providing education and Doula services to women and their families for more than 15 years now, having certified as a Doula in 1998 at the very young age of 19. I have had many life and professional experiences since then which I feel have allowed me to learn and grow into an excellent educator and soon to be Midwife. It is my goal and vision to work with women and their families, educating them to know that they have the option to choose where and with whom they want to birth their babies and to provide midwifery services to them if they so choose. Once I have completed my schooling, I also intend on providing care to lower income women in rural areas that do not have access to proper prenatal care. The time has come once again for women to become active participants in their care and that of their babies! I know that as a Midwife, I can empower, inspire and assist them in doing so.
