Miguel Angel is 20 years old and worked with us through the AMIGOS organization while we were in the village of Cañongo in the Dominican Republic. He always said that he avoided motorcycles because of their high risk factor; however, the convenience and economical benefits of motorcycles in the DR often make them the most practical mode of transportation. Miguel was in a severe motorcycle accident recently and almost lost vision in one eye. Fortunately, he received the first treatment necessary to save his eye, and he has an apointment scheduled for the second surgery in several days. All the hospital bills are adding up, though, and he no longer has the resources to pay for this next treatment. We only need to raise US$160 to cover his hospital bill, so any small contribution you are able to make will be greatly appreciated. Miguel worked very hard with us two summers ago, and now we’d like to support him in his recovery.
