Julia and Mik signed up thinking they could train for a half marathon in less than 4 weeks. Gus & Simon laughed in their faces and said "yeah right" rounding out team Dumb & Dumber to team Dumb, Dumber, Dumberer and Dumbererer. Jokes aside, they're treking up to Maine to run for a really good cause.
And so on Sunday, October 2, the Marr team of family and friends will join together to run the 2016 Maine Marathon, Half Marathon, or Marathon Relay to support the Josephine and John Marr Alzheimer’s Research Fund at Brigham and Women’s Hospital (BWH). Established by the Marr family, the fund supports a visionary Alzheimer’s research initiative aimed at ultimately preventing the disease.
Today, more than five million Americans are courageously fighting Alzheimer’s disease. But the Marr family—together with world-renowned researchers at BWH—are focused on finding a way to stop Alzheimer’s disease altogether. Backed by more than 30 years of research, BWH leaders, Drs. Dennis Selkoe and Reisa Sperling are leading and pioneering innovative approaches to advance the prevention and treatment of this devastating disease.
Thank you for joining us in this fight to prevent Alzheimer’s. Together we can make a difference—now and for future generations.
