EVENT DATE: May 10, 2014
The only gift we ask of our guests for our wedding is that you come, have a good time, and wish us well in our marriage. However, if anyone would like to give us a gift we encourage our guests to donate to Mammoth Medical Missions in honor of our wedding. In November of 2013 Mike traveled to the Philippines with Mammoth Medical Missions to provide relief in the wake of super typhoon Haiyan/Yolanda. Mike hopes to continue to work with Mammoth Medical Missions in the future and continue to help with international aid and disaster relief. All donations will help this group pay for future trips and save lives in the future. Some info about Mammoth Medical Missions has been taken from their website and pasted below. Please click on their logo below or visit www.mammothmedicalmissions.org to learn more.
Mammoth Medical Missions was one of the first medical teams on the ground in Leyte Province, Philippines, in the wake of Super Typhoon Haiyan in 2013. With a team of 16 medical volunteers and support staff, working in a makeshift field hospital in the roofless town hall in Tanauan, we were able to treat 157 cases within the first 3 - 6 days after the storm's landfall, delivering 11 babies (two by c-section) and saving dozens of lives.
Mammoth Medical Missions (MMM) is a secular, nonprofit, non-governmental volunteer organization based in Mammoth Lakes, California, that provides medical, surgical, dental, and general health-care relief to underserved rural and mountain communities worldwide, as well as rapid emergency medical response and field triage in case of large-scale disaster and/or mass casualty.
