BENEFITING: FIRST STEP FOUNDATION
EVENT DATE: Jun 24, 2015
Mike Barwis is the founder and CEO of the Barwis Methods family of companies, including the Barwis Methods Training Centers. Mike has started two non-profit organizations to help as many people as possible. The First Step Foundation (FSF) is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the lives of people with gross and fine motor difficulties by giving them access to Neurological Reengineering and the Barwis Methods, the world’s leader in injury recovery. Athletic Angels is a non-profit that provides athletic, academic and mentoring opportunities to impoverished kids. Mike cares deeply about both of his non-profits and does everything in his power to help all people who need it. The money raised today for his 42nd birthday will be split evenly between First Step & Athletic Angels. If we can raise $2,000 the funds raised for Athletic Angels will give 30 kids living at a group home the opportunity to workout at Barwis Methods this month and it will provide snacks/drinks for after their workout. It will also help a 14 year old boy in foster care who has cerebral palsy get access to Barwis Methods' Injury Recovery Program for two weeks. The funds raised for the First Step Foundation will help provide individual training scholarships, trainer development/education and housing/travel expenses for individuals who need it.
